Eureka Jones

Congratulations To Eureka Springs musician Rich Jones. Rich has been selected as an Arkansas Arts Council's "Artists on Tour" performer.
The council periodicaly reviews Arkansas's solo and ensemble musicians and an independent panel chooses a new roster of artists each year through an audition/interview process. Selection is based on the quality of the artists' work and on a demonstrated ability to tour in Arkansas.
Rich Jones is a solo acoustic musician who plays traditional Delta and Mississippi blues, and has shared stages with some of the industrys' most historically significant musicians: Cedell Davis, Johnny Woods, Jessie Mae Hemphill and Gene Pello, among others.
Rich also founded both the Eureka Springs Blues Festival and The Ozark National Blues Festival. He has two studio CD's, Strike it Rich and No More Gravity and is preparing his third for release next month. He suppliments his performances with educational stories and historical information related directly to our area's impressive contribution to music and the blues.
Rich also provides a traveling museum that showcases 100's of articles and artifacts related to Delta musicians and music.
Playing a National steel bodied tri-cone resonator, Rich impressed the panel with skilled renditions of Robert Johnson's "Come On In My Kitchen" and "I Want You To Know" by Bo Carter.
Both of Rich's audition songs and a live performance with Jessie Mae Hemphill can be viewed on Youtube under "Eureka Jones."
