[Nightflying Notes From The Pub]

It is finally Spring in the Altered State, and not a second too soon. The outdoor shows are going crazy, and there are many excellent beer gardens and venues to choose from.
Riverfest is getting in gear to invade downtown Little Rock, and this year there are many exciting bands in store (of course, there always are…) Set to appear, in no certain order, mind you, are Heart, Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, Trout Fishing In America, American Princes, The B-52s, Hinder, Riverbilly, A Good Fight, Bobby Brown, 3 Doors Down, Tone Loc, Johnny Gil, Jason Aldean, the Benjy Davis Project, Heads Of State, Ralph Tresvant, and dozens more…

Sticky Fingerz checks in this month with a roster worth writing home about.
Set to appear in the coming weeks are James Lepine, Flash LaRue, Paul Sammons, Ryan Bingham & Dead Horses, Falcon Scott, Stars Go Dim, The See, The Red Suite, Detroit Cobras, The Dexter Romweber Duo, Mr. LIF, School of Seven Bells, Del Castillo, Jonathan Tyler & Northern Lights, Matt Joyce, Bonnie Prince Billy, The Bachelorette, Cotton Jones, Miniature Tigers, Infinite Stringdusters, The Mt. St. Helen's Vietnam Band, The Venus Mission, Autovaughn and The Benjamin Del Shreve Band.
I was able to catch several sets of Benjamin Del Shreve at the club recently, and all I can say is WOW! I've always liked this band, but I have to say I'd never heard them in quite this vein before. Ultimately, the group can actually create downright psychedelic sounds live, without resorting to synthesizers and such. Rather, they use their voices and instruments to create a wall of colorful sound that's both captivating and exciting. Carefully orchestrated solos, multiple guitar harmonies and leads, well-placed screams and, well, gutteral sounds all combine to twist the listeners' ears and senses, making this one of the most interesting live bands I've ever heard.
See Kody Ford's feature on the band elsewhere in this issue, and make a point to see them live. You'll thank me after you do for turning you on to this fine band.
For bookings at Sticky Fingerz, contact Chris King at (501)372-1151…….

On down at the other end of the Market is, of course, The Rev Room, which is the River Market's concert venue. This beautiful facility combines a huge show room with a Cuban-American restaurant, and a very cool outdoor deck fully in view of the RiverFest Amphitheatre and the Arkansas River.
Set to appear in the coming weeks are The Thermals, Shaky Hands, Magic Hassle, Out of Ashes, The Gettys, American Princes' 120 Minutes of the 90s, Afternoon Delight, the incomparable Cowboy Mouth, The Eli Young Band, The Carder Twins, Ryan Couron, Jared Lawler, Ewell, The Sleepy Genius, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Cory Lamb, Randy Rogers & Wade Bowen doing an all acoustic tour, Rigby Fawkes, The Spring Standards, So Much For Summer, Tragikly White, Billy Joe Shaver, The Hill Country Revue, Curtis Salgado, and Tragikly Gettys, a hybrid of two of Arkansas' most popular bands.
For bookings contact Chris King at (501)372-1151…….

There are many other music haunts in the River Market of course and you can have a time bouncing up and down the street doing a pub crawl, and with the warmer weather it's perfect entertainment.

The White Water Tavern checks in with another stellar line-up, but then they do that every month.
On the bill this month are Dylan Sneed, Midwest Caravan, Street Corner Matodors, Pope County Bootleggers, Frown Power, The Weisenheimers, Mr. Bear, The Damn Bullets, The Patrick Sweany Band, Dog Gods, Magpies, Travis Linville, Jimbo Mathus, Black List Royals, Uncle Luscious, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm, Amereican Aquarium, Kevin Gordon, Ace Spade & The Whores of Babylon, and many, many more.
Be sure to check out the Arkansas Rockers Revue every Tuesday. There's no cover charge and you get the chance to hear 3 or so new bands in one night.
For bookings contact Matt White at the club at (501)375-8400……

Coming to Juanita's in the next month are Fracture, Sangre, One Theory, Deja Blu, Throbbing Testicles, Flameing Daeth Fearies, The Writz, Elise Davis, Fiat Lux, Playing With Karma, Boondox, Prozac, Body Drop, Goldylocks, Wishtribe, A Plea For Mercy, Thursday Thursday, Joe's Head & The Four Kicks and many dozens more. See the complete line-up in our Sound pages…but you already know that, eh?
Juanita's is one of my favorite haunts of all time. Why? It's a combination of the sound quality and general ambiance of the place. With all the music played there for a couple decades, that room has soaked up some amazing musical energy…and you can feel it by just walking in the place.
For bookings at Juanita's call Erin Hurley at (501)374-3660…….

Down the street, MidTown Billiards continues to be, of course, Little Rock's answer to New Orleans. The smoky bar is open 7 days a week, has a seriusly overflowing bar, myriad pool tables, live bands every weekend, the world's most excellent cheeseburger, and a wild and crazy crowd of regulars that consider it their home away from home.
Indeed, this is where the nightclub crowd ends most nights after they get off from their own clubs.
Coming up at the club are The Chilly Rose Band, FreeVerse, The Pope County Bootleggers, SugarFree Allstars, Nathan Hamilton & The New Deal, The Joe Pitts Band, The Duo, Interstate Buffalo, and much more.
Bands interested in booking the room should contact Conan at (501)372-7110, or email him at moeman03@comcast.net…….

Congratulations to Zack's Place, at 1400 So. University, on hitting another great anniversary. The club is fast becoming a music hangout, at least on weekends. Of course it's been a club hang for many years, but they only recently kicked out the walls, built a band area and began featuring live bands.
Set to appear in the coming weeks are the Shannon Boshears Band, NTO, Mike Dollins & The Cruize Brothers, The Port Arthur Band, Kickback and The Blue Haze Band.
Zack's also features Live Trivia, Live Texas Hold 'Em, NTN Trivia & Poker, poo; tables, a 135" flat projection screen, a large dance floor, a huge dart area, live djs and really good food (homemade plate lunches!) What's more, you can dine from their full menu until late night.
For bookings you can reach the club at (501)664-6444…….

One of the best kept secrets of Central Arkansas has got to be The Markham Street Grill.
Coming up at the club are Penguin Dilemma, Nick Devlin & Brian Nahlen, Alan Helms, White Collar Criminals, Barrett Baber, Tonya Leeks, Dean Agus, Michael Hambrick and Irv Sisk.
The club is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner (until midnight), is smoker friendly, sports a full bar, has Free Wifi, has huge-screens for sports events, and has live music Thursday through Saturday.
    What's more, there's never a cover charge…
For bookings call Don at (501)224-2010…….

Out in Prestigious Western Little Rock, the annual Cinco De Mayo bash at Grumpy's Too Cantina Was a giant success. 1st Impressions performed (as they do for all of Grumpy's special occassions), and the house was jammed all night.
Grumpy's has live music every Monday through Saturday. Coming up are dates with Chris Henry, The Shannon Boshears Band, Steele Jessup, Shannon M., Barrett & Colby, Bipolar, Tim Meitzen, Notion and a bunch more.
For bookings call the club at (501)225-3768…….

West End checks in this issue with a typically strong music line-up. On the bill are Southbound, Judge Parker, Monster Party (formerly Rise Phoenix Rise), Crunch, Max Taylor & The Blue Katz, Bushdog, Behind The Sun, Pail, Goodspeed and many more.
This is a fun place to party, with the live bands, great food and all-around sports motif. Hey, there are even tvs in the men's room so you don't miss a single lick of the action while you empty yourself to make room for more of whatever it is you're drinking.
In addition, West End serves its entire menu until 1:30 a.m., so's you can get a late-night real meal (as opposed to waffles)…
See our Sound pages for the listings and dates.
For bookings call the club at (501)224-7665…….

Across the river in North Little Rock, a favorite party place is Counterpoint. This club is open 7 days a week, has live bands on weekends and a live DJ every night spinning tunes.
There's pool, ping pong, arcade games, a large wooden dance floor, a truly great sound system and a party atmosphere that just doesn't stop.
KJ Debbi T. is now back at the club, and doing her karaoke every Wednesday and Friday.
Coming up at the club are Pellet Gun, 3rd Degree, Thread and Exit Strategy.
For bookings call Cheryl Drennan at (501)771-5515…….

Mr. BJ Latting, a long-time friend and avid NF supporter passed away a few weeks back. BJ was the power-that-be behind Arkansas Car Stereo, and was a darned good musician to boot. He died of "natural causes", according to the obit in the daily newspaper. Whatever…he was a close friend to many (including moi), and will be sorely missed…….

In Hot Springs….
By now you have probably heard the news: Maxine's has changed hands. After 3 years at the helm, Jeremy Nelson has left the building. Jeremy built the club into a bonafide music venue, attracting bands from coast to coast to his 'alternative' nightclub, and turning the former "puzzle bar" into a no-holds-barred small concert room that featured live music on most nights.
Enter Kevin and Agnes Galecka, a couple of music buffs who moved here from L.A. (the one in California…as opposed to Lower Arkansas…)
The pair are serious music freaks from day one, both veterans of the colorful and many faceted world of the West Coast, and bring to the club (and Arkansas) a fresh outlook and approach to entertaining. They assure me that the club will continue to feature top-notch live music, carrying on the traditions Jeremy established…
We'll have a feature on the two in our next issue. Suffice it to say that this club is in very capable hands…
Caught a fantastic show there the other night, featuring the band Radio.Radio, a high energy alternative group from Tulsa. This band is nothing short of exciting, with great musicianship that delivers an excellent performance that is only rivaled by the sheer personality of the players themselves.
I look forward to their return in the near future.
Set to appear at the club in the coming weeks are Madison Street, Bryan Frazier & cinePLOSION, the SugarFree Allstars, a return engagement of WSNB (which means We Sing Nasty Blues - and they do, too), The Cordoroy, Blacklist Royals, Cas Haley with Woodbelly, The Keith Horton Project, Ume, Underclaire, Benjamin Del Shreve, River City Tanlines, Ty Segall, Charlie & the Moonbeats, The Underground Division and much more.
    For bookings, call (501)321-0909…….

Odie's has been going gang-busters since it opened, and one visit to the club will prove my point.
The club features two stages, full bar service, excellent food and all served up by a team of professional Tuxedo-clad servers. There is live music every night they're open, from solo pianist Chuck Dodson nightly, a blues jam on Thursday hosted by Mike Dollins & The Cruize Brothers, to various regional and touring musicians.
Set to appear in the coming month are The NTO Band, Robin Rogers, the legendary Steady Rollin Bob Margolin, Bow Legged Rooster, The Hump Night Band and many others.
In addition, Brian Sink hosts 'Oldies at Odie's' every Wednesday, Mike Dollins & The Cruize Brothers hold down a blues jam every Thursday, and Chuck Dodson tinkles the ivories on that grand piano every night.
The menu is superb, by the way, with finely prepared steaks, seafood, desserts, chops, salads, freshly flown in wild salmon, lobster and Alaskan King Crab. (All the steaks are exclusively "Omaha" Black Angus…by the way…if that tells you anything about the quality…)
There is, of course, a full bar featuring all your favorite libations.
Prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent.
Odie's is open Tuesday through Sunday
And for bookings contact David Hughes at (501)620-3596 or email him at dhughes@hotsprings.nct…….

Had a ball at The Big Chill the other night, but then I always do. Indeed, The Chill is an exquisite music room, and more like partying in your own living room (only with servers who wait on you hand and foot - get THAT at home…)
Gary Hutchison and John Magness were tearing it up, and had the entire room buzzing throughout the evening. These two are quite fun, and don't hesitate to deliver off-the-wall jokes and 'commentary' by, for and about the audience. Both are exceptional musicians across the board.
On the bill in the coming weeks are John Tally, Ben & Gary, Tommy Thompson, The Pierson-Waters Project, Mike Tabor & Chuck, Dayton Waters, Randy Magness, Big Juv, Trey Johnson, Gary Hutdchison & John Magness, Dan Sanchez and many more. And of course every Monday features Lightnin' Lee Langdon and David Ball for their Dr. Chillworth's Monday Night Medicine Show, with various players sitting in.
For bookings call Gina or David at (501)624-5185…….

Lucky's checks in this month with another fine roster of talent. Look for the likes of Charlotte Taylor & Gypsy Rain, The Joe Pitts Band, Crash Meadows, Alley Cats, Cosmic Biscuit and Terri & The Executives.
Lucky's is open 7 days a week, has a full menu and full bar (that serves late), and there's never a cover charge.
Located at 711 Central Avenue, the club is immediately adjacent to Belle Arti and Porterhouse Steak House, and they have another lounge upstairs for private parties.
For bookings call Mary Holt at (501)909-9430…….

The Long Shot Saloon is a dance club that is open 7 days a week until 5 a.m. Located immediately across Central from Oaklawn Park, The Long Shot has a fantastic stereo set-up, a full bar, very excellent food, and a crowd that is every bit as entertaining as a good band.
This is a dance club, plain and simple, with a thriving business. Fact is, on any given night it can be hard to get in the place as it is wall-to-wall partiers.
After all, the Long Shot is open 7 days a week until 5 in the a.m. It is, technically speaking, a private club, and all you got to do to join is just go there.
They even feature a free shuttle to help you avoid any run-ins with the 'Peace Officers' that roam the streets of Hot Springs (trying to "protect and serve" of course…)
To reach the Long Shot by phone, call (501)622-0396…….

In other Hot Springs news, the warm weather has brought great live music back to the lake clubs, with Docker's, Smyly's and Doe's going strong.
As we go to press, the word is that The Island Club, across from Smyly's, will be open by early July, and will feature live bands, good food and all the fun you can have with sand between your toes. Watch these pages for details…….

Bogart's, the club formerly known as Boogie's, is another spot open until the wee-wee hours of 5 a.m.. Here you'll find an enormous nightclub, with live bands, great food, and numerous bar stations to wet your whistle.
Coming to the club in the next several weeks are Area 51, Alizé, Jason Greenlaw & The Groove, House Arrest, and Crash Meadows to name a few.
See our Sound listings for all the dates (but you know that by now…)
For bookings contact John Dean at (501)623-5152…….
Speaking of Bogart's, I'm sorry to report that Mr. Chris Crudup passed away recently. Chris was a great guy, and a friend to virtually everyone he encountered. Chris suffered from some infection that apparently invaded his heart.
There will be a huge benefit show in his honor on Sunday, May 31, to both pay him last tributes and hopefully to raise some capital for his family. On the bill will be many of Chris' friends, including Area 51, Alizé, Ashley Blanton White, Dean Agus, Mike Tabor, Down The Bottle, Mister Lucky, Chris Moshier, Kramer, Aaron Garrett, Larry Porter, Chucky P, Denny G, Dave Aldridge and many more. See page 26 of this issue for more details…
And check out the side-piece on this page, which was written by Chris' life-long friend Terrell Williams…
This was a horrible tragedy, and our heart goes out to his wife and family… He will be missed…

In Fort Smith….
Spring is finally fully underway and as predicted, Garrison Avenue is blossoming. The Avenue is becoming what may be the largest, hottest club strip in The Altered State's history. Heady words, I know, but take a stroll down that street some evening and see if you don't agree.
I got to witness the grand opening of Bill Neumeier's new Rib Room and Barbecue and what a gala event it was! The club is the diamond of nightclubs in Arkansas, and one of the nicest clubs anywhere…in this country and beyond.
A funny thing happened in the process of building it, too. Neither Bill or any of his partners had ever been to Tipitinas Uptown in New Orleans before they built the place. Indeed, they had all travelled throughout the country, and spent time in many, many bars (doing important research, you know…) In the process they dreamed up what they thought would be a very cool nightclub, taking the best ideas they found wherever and rolling them all into one…hence the general plan for the bar took shape in their imaginations. They proceeded to build what turns out to be practically a mirror image of the famed Tipitina's. The only real difference, they say, is that Tipitina's has a roof, where The Rib Room is open-air. The floor-plan, layout and general motif of the club, complete with the bar offerings as well, are all remarkably similar to the famed Crescent City club. They didn't know this until one of them happened to go to New Orleans a few weeks ago and decided to pay a visit to Tipitina's.
I guess great minds do tend to think alike…a happy accident, as it were.
Neumeier's opened with a bang, and despite several stormy weekend nights, has still managed to serve many thousands of patrons in the few weeks that it's been open.
But floorplans are only one part of the equation of success. Ultimately, the bands who have played there thus far have all been amazed and utterly delighted.
The Klocks even commented that they have found a new favorite venue, despite playing hundreds of nights a year in some of the most successful clubs in the country.
Set to appear in the coming weeks are Fat Dixie, Texas legend Bugs Henderson & The Shuffle Kings, guitar virtuoso Monte Montgomery, The Oreo Blue Trio, Sultans of Schwing, CharlieHorse, Micky & The Motorcars, JP Soars & The Red Hots, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm, The KISS Army, Wild Oats, Fly-By Radio, The Rain Kings, Time Machine, The Band Of Heathens, Macon Greyson, Grece Potter & The Nocturnals, Cplus and many more.
And of course they are also serving their mouthwatering barbecue, a fact that has made many people drive from several states away just to pig out (and take a load on home, too).
For bookings, contact Bill at (479)494-RIBS (7427)…….

I caught a great show at R. Landry's recently with Brick Fields - aka, Rachel Fields and Larry Brick. I hadn't seen them for some time, as they've been playing much on the West Coast.
This was a real treat as they are really like family. Indeed, Rachel is the niece of our late-great writer, Burger, who helped fill these pages for over ten years (he was Gypsy Woman, Dear Flabby and many other characters in our pages…after he died we just went back through the archives and started re-runnnng his columns…especially Horrorscopes, which are an even bigger hit now than they were years ago.)
Landry's is a very cool room, with excellent food, drink and ambiance. I've said it many times: This is the closest you can get to authentic New Orleans fare without going to the Crescent City itself…and actually better than many places I've frequented in tat city.
On the bill in the coming weeks are the likes of Kory Montgomery, Smilin' Bob & Pam Camp, Blame Kelly, The Terri Quiett Band, Truck Stop Poets, The Mark Albertson Duo, The Crumbs, Grant Pierson, The Magpies, The Pearson Brothers, Tiffany Christopher, RJ Mischo & His Red Hot Blues Band, Will Mendenhall, The Bannister Brothers and many more.
Check out the Sound pages and make a point to stop in for a drink, some tasty seafood, and a song or two. I'll warn you, though: This place is habit-forming…
    For bookings call (479)783-2505…….

I'm most proud to report that Old Town is once again alive on the Avenue. Mike and Cindy from Hero's recently renovated the room and kicked the doors open to the great excitement of the town's party crowd, and the word is that it's going great guns.
There is live music on a regular basis, a great full bar, and a decades-old vibe to the room that is at once inviting and welcoming.
Set to appear in the next month are Greg Madden, Rick Skinner, a fundraiser for the Summer Music Camp Scholarship that will feature The Crumbs, The Band Keith, Smilin' Bob & Pam Camp, Bushwhackers and much more. Also on the bill are Out Of Towners,
JT, George Hughen, Saudria Sayleen, Travis Nevels, Tabitha Graves, Matt H. and more.
I caught the Pearson Brothers, Larry & Bruce, for a couple sets the other night and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
For bookings call Mike at (479)782-1999…….

The Hangin' Judge Saloon checks in at this writing with yet another stellar line-up.
Artists set to appear in the coming weeks include Truck Stop Poets, Chain Of Reason, Part 1 Tribe, Kickstart, Anomaly, The Young Grammarians, Within, South 40 and more.
This is a real fun room and a nice addition to the doings on the Avenue.
Hangin' Judge is open 7 days a week until daybreak.
For bookings call Billy Garner at (479)494-0000…….

Hero's checks in this month with a typically fine list of musical medicine. Look for The Hosty Duo, Old Town Heros, Barefoot Brigade, The Crumbs, The Band Keith, Smilin' Bob & Pam Camp, Bushwhackers, Standing for Something and 15 keys.
Hero's is open every day, sports a full bar, has good bar food (and serves it until 1 a.m.), huge-screen sports action, arcades and pool tables, and it, too, is a regular destination for the club-running crowd.
For bookings call Mike Gonzales at (479)784-5055…….

Ava's Rib Shack - the only place in this column NOT on the Avenue, checks in with Bluesmith, Wanda Watson, Marmits, Grey Street, Blue Collar Band, The Wranglers, Willie Stradlin, Young Grammarians, Mighty Moon Frogs and much more.
The large beer garden has been the site of a great many excellent music shows through the years, and with Ava at the helm we can expect more of the same.
For bookings here, or at any of Ava's other clubs, call Ava at (479)650-5045. Tell her you saw it here…

With the warmer weather upon us, virtually all the venues with outdoor facilities are getting in gear. Garrison Avenue Pub, Ava's Rib Shack, Rooster's, La Huerta…all have live music throughout the season, and you know what I think about partying outside under the stars…it really is how God meant it to be…….

In NW Arkansas….
Northwest music fans are jazzed that the Wakarusa Festival is just around the corner. The historic festival will be held during the first week of June and will bring nearly 90 bands to these mountains for four days of camping and rocking out. See the separate feature on the event elsewhere in this issue, and make your plans now to join the fun. It will be, for lack of a better term, a truly historic music event the likes of which the Ozarks have never seen.

With the warm weather all the outdoor venues are once again in full swing.
Set to appear at George's in the coming weeks are The Ben Miller Band, Nate Hancock & The Declaration, The Christmas Fuller Project, Dean McConnell, Full House, Michael Burks, Monte Montgomery, Kory Montgomery, The Smithsonians, Amure, Open Addiction, Wasting Days, Dreamfast, Jarris, the.radio.sky, Saturate, Spoken, FOS Project, several Wakarusa-related parties, Elephant Revival, Blue Mountain, Telepath, The Matt Jones Soul Revue, Big Uns, John Paul Keith, Jesse Baylin, Hoots & Hellmouth, Madahoochi, Old School Freight Train, Scythian, Dusty Rhodes & The River Band, Candy Coburn, SilverStone, Marca, Indiana & The Byrds, The Bel Airs, Emily Knight, Hardaway & The Commoners, Sarah Hughes, Boom Kinetic, LaFuSo, Control Alt Delete, Where's Lawrence, Standing For Something, Pretty Boy Convoy, Mountain Sprout, Big Smith…and there are literally dozens more on the bill.
I caught a very exciting set with LaFuSo for a Happy Hour recently, and was blown away. While I didn't exactly count them, there were at least 10 or more musicians on that stage, and they rocked. Period. Fronted by veteran Liz Lottmann and her husband Juergen, the band performs a personal concoction of their namesake: Latin, Funk and Soul. Sheesh, Liz..this band is a Northwest Arkansas answer to Mad Dogs & Englishmen, but with better rhythm…
If you get the chance you should hear - no, experience - this band. (George's was jam-packed all night long…)
    For bookings call (479)527-6618…….

Dickson Street is hopping now that the sunshine is back. Jose's Streetside is kicking it loose several times a week.
Set to appear in the next month are Dave Stiles, Pope County Bootleggers, Lil Hoojin, Toast To The Blind, The L Street Band, Earl & Them, Big Bad Bubba, Isayah & The Allstars, Joe Giles & The Homewreckers, The Robert Hatfield Band, and The Odds.
Thursday is once again Bike Night, and the place tends to be hopping 7 days a week when the weather's right, bands or not.
For bookings call Neal Crawford at (479)521-0194…….

Jose's Southwest Grille in Springdale is up and runnning with their all-new, expanded garden. The new additional patio area and beer garden will include 50-60 more seats, and bring the total area of the garden to some 2000+ square feet. All seating has an excellent view of the stage as well, something owner Doug Allen feels is "amazing."
Just some of the acts set to appear in the coming weeks are Big Bad Bubba, Morgan Williams, The Paisley Brothers Band, Cassette, Jacob & Isayah, Cousin Eddie, On The Run, The FCS Band, Earl's Garage, The Kelly Road Band, Red Ambition, Joe Giles & The Homewreckers, The Tyrones and many more.
See our Sound pages for dates and artists.
For bookings contact Doug at (479)750-9055…….

Ryleigh's Boom Boom Room checks in this month with an excellent menu of bands.
Look for Parade Of Fools, The Bob Kramer Incident, People In The Paper, DJ Derick, Jessie Dean and Five By Five.
For bookings call Sarah at (479)200-0157…….

Powerhouse Seafood, with its very cool garden spot, will be featuring Deacon, The Eoff Brothers Band, Boom Kinetic, The Nace Brothers Band, Charliehorse and many more.
Powerhouse is just off Dickson on University, and is a comfortable stroll a block off Dickson.
    For bookings call (479)442-8300…….

Also kicking up is Herman's Rib House, with their excellent outdoor patio. While the season schedule is nowhere near complete, look for the likes of Sarah Hughes, Shannon Wurst, Smithstonians, TJ Scarlett and Russ Hutchinson to take the stage under the stars.
As its name suggests, Herman's specializes in very tasty barbecue. Indeed, it has been a legendary smokehouse for many decades, and given its location in the home of the Razorbacks, is known literally worldwide
    For bookings call (479)442-9671…….

Boomer's Time Out in Bentonville is one sweet nightclub, complete with an extensive outdoor patio/garden.

Bluesman extrordinaire Kory Montgomery hosts a weekly blues jam every Wednesday, and all (real) musicians are welcome to sit in, but bring your own axe…(!)
Boomer's is located just off the interstate (exit 85 - Rogers-Bentonville) right behind The Village Inn, and is an easy drive from anywhere in Northwest Arkansas.
For bookings call Sheri at (479)586-6415, afternoons…….

The AMP has kicked off their season beautifully, despite the weekend downpours that have been plaguing the Altered State. Coming right up are shows with Darius Rucker (of Hootie & The Blowfish) with Wade Bowen, Queensryche, Ben Folds, LeAnn Rimes and Peter Frampton. Watch these pages for their further season schedule in the coming months……
