Lauren de Miranda looks for big
things in 2010
By Kody Ford
Arkansas native Lauren de Miranda is making waves on
the west coast but she still hasn't lost that giving spirit that has
endured her to fans worldwide. Lauren is going to donate the proceeds
from purchases of her song “How Long” to help the victims of the
devastating earthquake in Haiti.
“The people in Haiti need our help,” she said. “For
those of you who know me, you know I would prefer to drop everything
and fly over and help each person by hand. However, due to my current
circumstances, I can’t but I have come up with my own way to help
through my passion - music! I have a song on my CD New Life called "How
Long?." This song speaks about global love. It is really hitting home
right now and I would like to donate 100% of the profits off this song
to the cause. You can download this song on iTunes or purchase a
physical copy on CDbaby.com.”
Lauren plans to keep this offer going through
Valentine’s Day.
Since relocating to Los Angeles last year, Lauren
has written and recorded new music with producer Eddie Galan (Hannah
Montana, High School Musical). Her song “Rock Star” was inspired by her
boyfriend, musician Matt Jones, who is recording his debut LP in L.A.
“Working with Eddie has been such an honor,” said
Lauren. “He’s an amazing talent and has helped me take my music
in new directions and expand my sound.”
Lauren’s song “New Life” is beginning to chart
nationwide thanks to the help of a music promoter. After just a few
weeks, she is currently in the Top 150 on the Media Base Activator
Charts. This is quite a feat for an unsigned artist.
“I’m really excited about the reception ‘New Life’
is getting around the country,” said Lauren. “People really seem to be
connecting with the song. And without the fans, there’s no way I’d be
in the company of artists like the Black Eyed Peas, Lady GaGa or Adam
Lambert.”
Radio isn’t the only exposure that Lauren has been
getting. Look for her in the new Lifehouse video for “Halfway Gone.”
Filmed on a Saturday in a park near L.A., Lauren is not only in the
background, she even gets a few close-ups halfway through the song.
“It was so much fun working on that video. The guys
in the band are really nice and the director was one of the best in the
business,” Lauren said.
Also, check out Goom Radio (www.goomradio.com) in
February. Lauren will be the featured artist on the Sweet Channel,
which means her music will play from 50-75 times a week along with an
intro from Lauren herself. Goom Radio is huge in Europe and beginning
to make a splash here in the U.S. It currently has 2.5 million
listeners a month.
So look for big things from Lauren in the new year.
The way things are going, you never know if a record deal might be just
around the corner.
