SpringJam 4 At Camp Zoe
April 18+19, 2008
Two days of peace, camping, and live music in a huge heated circus tent
- rain or shine
This will mark the fourth year for this early season springtime concert
at Camp Zoe. In years past, it was called "ZoeJam", or "EarthJam", or
simply “the spring concert.” Bands that have played this springtime
event in the past have included: George Clinton & P-Funk, Mofro,
Hot Tuna, Garaj Mahal, Papa Mali, Karl Denson, Jerry Joseph, Vince
Herman, etc....... Last year we went real low key and only ran the
Schwag band.
This year brings a big production, a huge circus tent, top-notch
entertainment, full staff with medical & security, and a strong
zest for life. Vince Herman & Great American Taxi are coming back
this year for the full weekend. Many of you probably remember Vince
from playing with the band LEFTOVER SALMON as well as playing the Zoe
spring event a few years ago with his "Taxi" band.
This year there will be a reggae party on the Thursday night for early
arrivals. This will feature Joseph Isarael with his reggae band and
will cost an additional $10 on top of the weekend price for arriving a
day early on Thursday.
Camp Zoe is a 370-acre privately owned campground located in a valley
of the Ozark Hills of southern central Missouri. Beaches, caves,
bluffs, and swimmin' holes line the spring-fed stream that runs through
the middle of the campground. Zoe is a former youth camp that is
surrounded by 90,000 acres of private timber reserves and national park
property. This is the 12th season of Schwagstock festivals and the 17th
year of The Schwag. Camp Zoe has hosted twenty Schwag festivals over
the last four years with a cumulative attendance of over 100,000
people. There are five Schwag events in 2008. Schwagstock 33 in May of
2007 drew over 7500 people.
Camp Zoe has a general store, a concession stand, a shower house with
flush toilets, a bathroom house with flush toilets, 75 porta-jons,
on-site septic service, ATM, payphone, 500 trash cans, 3 trash
dumpsters, 4 miles of gravel roads, private security, 2 stages, power
for vendors, and lots of shaded camping. You park where you camp and
camp where you park. All camping space is first come, first serve - no
reservations.
There will be food & beverages for sale on-site. There are no
bar-b-que pits available but you can bring your own. Gates open on
Thursday, April 17 at 10 a.m.- there will be an extra $10 charge per
person for early arrivals. There will be some live entertainment on
Thursday evening for early arrivals - the pre-party. Please leave your
pets at home or in a kennel - dogs will NOT be allowed in - NO
EXCEPTIONS.
There is plenty of room for RV's and pop-up campers - no electric sites
are available at this time. You will be issued a wristband upon arrival
that you must wear throughout the weekend. You can drive in and
out as much you like during the event but we suggest parking and
staying parked.
CANOE FLOAT TRIPS
Available on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. The
float is 11 miles on the Current River. You will float from "Pulltite"
to "Round Spring". A school bus will come to Zoe and pick up and return
the floaters. Costs are $45 per canoe and include transportation,
paddles, canoe rental, and life vest. Float trips are provided by area
float operators and have permits, insurance, busses, boats, experienced
staff, etc... Reservations are NOT needed for canoes at Zoe. Just show
up at the bus stop and pay the bus driver.
