Nightflying: The Entertainment Guide

    The first Mardi gras parade was brought to Memphis 138 years ago by the “Mystic Memphi”. The best and funniest Mardi Gras Parade and Club Krawl will be hosted on Beale Street on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 at 5:00 PM. The 3rd Annual Beale Street Mardi Gras Push Parade and Klub Krawl will consist of Beale Street Krewes decorating their floats; I mean SHOPPING CARTS, their queen (in the shopping cart), and parading them down Beale Street (tossing beads, candy, etc.) to each participating Restaurant on Beale. Participating Restaurants at this time are: Blues City Café, Miss Polly’s Soul City Café, The Flying Saucer, Huey’s, Rum Boogie Café, Silky’s, Alfred’s, Spindini’s, Primetime Sports Bar, Hard Rock Café, Superior Restaurant and Bar, B. B. King’s, Coyote Ugly, Wet Willies, and Club 152.
    The Push Parade Review and line-up will occur at 6:00 PM at the Band Box (138 Beale Street) and will parade east on Beale Street visiting each participating club on the south side of Beale Street. Upon arriving at Hard Rock Cafe, the carts and their Krewe’s will head to Coyote Ugly and then west on Beale Street and visit the participating venues on the north side of Beale. The Krewe parade will end inside Club 152 on Beale with a Crawfish Boil, Crawfish Races, and the announcements of the winning Queen and Best Float.
    This is going to be an absolutely hilarious and fun event that will bring the spirit and atmosphere of Mardi Gras back to Memphis and Beale Street.
